Monologue, The Children's Hour by Lillian Hellman

The following monologue is from my work playing Martha Dobie in my school's fall play my senior year. My character, Martha Dobie, is a school teacher whose life is disrupted by the vicious rumor that she is gay. Later she has to come to terms that these accusations are actually true. This was a challenging and exciting part for me, especially with how relevant it is to today's society and I pushed myself to become Martha Dobie.
